Pretty good garden, this. There's a little ex-vegetable patch right in the sun, which is now a strawberry patch, and a massive unplanted bit which is constantly i the shade. I've planted 4 broad beans that I got from Shooter's hill farm, they haven't grown a bit :) Not sure what to do with that area, really.
We've also planted some giant pumpkins for halloween, some tiny sunflowers and some big ones that were ex-birdseed. I got two Gardener's delight tomato plants from farmer's market yesterday, and two cherry tomato plants, name of which I've forgotten.
I've also planted 3 pots of Aisla Craig, and 6 with a heritage seed dwarf french bean. There's a tray of mixed salad, and I plan to plant loads of dill as well, possibly it could go on the shaded plot in the corner.

Stuck in a feedback loop|
I'm having the kind of day where I saw the car tax papers and thought they should go on the notice board which reminded me of the nursery notes in the dining room that I was going to put on the notice board, so I went into dining room, saw the laundry racks and remembered the sheets to be washed, so I went to the utility room but couldn't put a wash on because the washing machine was already full, so I emptied it and took laundry to dining room to discover full laundry racks, so I dumped the wet laundry and took the dry clothes down and hung a coat up in the hallway where I saw the car tax papers which reminded me of the nursery notes, so I went back to dining room where I saw the wet laundry that reminded me of the bed sheets I was going to wash so I returned to the utility room and did the laundry but on the way back I saw the car tax papers and remembered the nursery notes in the dining room where I stumbled over the wet laundry and hung it up except it didn't all fit so I hung some in hallway where I saw the notice board which reminded me of the nursery notes which reminded me of car tax papers both of which are finally on the notice board, with me exhausted in bed...

Rest in peace, Doggy|
Just found out that Doggy died on Saturday afternoon, of old age. I feel very sad now.
Snowdrops, are up.
Crocuses nearly there, narcisses and tulips are emerging.
Blackcurrants getting bigger shoots and buds, rhubarbs just visible.
Roses looking healthy, and rosemary blossoms.
Loads of other buds on shrubs, and lots of birdies chirping.
I'll miss this garden :(

Why aren't cars essentially made of metal and rubber?|
Graakh have to drive the Battlestar to the arse end of nowhere for a software upgrade and then get the bloody train to the city and back.
And the thing I don't get is that the sw upgrade is so fuel doesn't spill into the oil. How can that require a software upgrade??? Also, they will put a sticker next to the oil tank telling you only to fill it halfway. That's more my kind of solution :)
So why do I have to take the car to the arse end of nowhere for this? Just stick the sticker and a USB stick in the post, done. Bloody Volvo.

Life as a Lady of Leisure|
I was feeling a bit bad about not going out in the garden to pick up Wednesday's dishes and s3k's cake shapes, just wanting to sit on the sofa and stare at the wall for a bit.
But then I made a mental list of what I've done today, in my life as an idle housewife leading a life of leisure and luxury:
* Breakfast for four, including yoghurt with fresh fruit, sandwiches and tea
* Get everyone dressed and tooth brushed
* Fed the cat twice
* Amazon order
* Painting with EW and counting numbers with s3k
* Made bead hearts with both of them
* 2nd breakfasts of banana and milk
* Put EW to bed
* 6 nappy changes
* Weekend food shopping w. s3k
* Pancakes for lunch
* Pampered p23 (I poured him a glass of water at one point)
* An hour of being an imaginary santa bringing pretend presents (too tired to get out in the garden...)
* Park and cappuccino w. EW, s3k and friend
* 2 washing machines, 1 load hanging up
* 2 loading and unloading dishwasher
* Car washed
* Taco dinner for 4
* Taken food bin out
* Put kids to bed
... and finally, a cup of tea for the sofa.
So next time I feel bad about not doing housework, I'll just return to this list :)

Surrounded by little monsters|
They got me out of bed early to make them breakfast, change them, administer to blisters, and give them medicine.
Then they all went back to bed again with bottles of milk. Meanwhile, I'm sitting on the sofa, wide awake, wondering what hit me.
What am I supposed to do now?
